The inauguration ceremony of the Special Action Force Museum, SAF 44 Memorial, and Black Beret Monument was a solemn event that took place on December 17, 2018, at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, Metro Manila. It was spearheaded by former President Fidel V. Ramos and served as a tribute to the bravery of the SAF 44 troopers who lost their lives during the Mamasapano Clash on January 25, 2015.

The SAF 44 Memorial is a fitting tribute to the fallen heroes of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force. The museum serves as a reminder of their courage, dedication, and selflessness in serving and protecting the nation. The Black Beret Monument, on the other hand, pays homage to the bravery and sacrifices of the SAF 44 troopers in the line of duty.

Francis Sollano, an award-winning Cebuano Trashion Artist, created the "Pagpupugay" sculpture, which is the centerpiece of the SAF 44 Memorial. The sculpture depicts a kneeling soldier made of triangular metal that symbolizes the respect the nation gives to the SAF 44 troopers. Sollano explained in a recorded video that he was inspired to create the artwork as a tribute to the troopers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

In addition to the sculpture, Suarez and Sons Inc. crafted 44 individual plaques, one for each SAF trooper, that were engraved with their names. These plaques serve as a way to honor their selfless sacrifice in defending our country and will remind future generations of their bravery and patriotism.

Overall, the inauguration ceremony of the SAF 44 Memorial, Special Action Force Museum, and Black Beret Monument was a poignant reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of the SAF 44 troopers. It serves as a tribute to their courage and dedication and a reminder of the importance of honoring those who have given their lives in service to our country.
